The chapters 1-5 of the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, is about two gangs the greasers and the Socs, who are always causing trouble. In the greaser gang, the protagonist, Ponyboy, is always getting good grades and is the smartest in the gang. Dally is one of the members in the gang, Ponyboy 's brother, has been in jail multiple times. Sodapop is also Ponyboy’s brother. He works at a gas station.
The church that Johnny and Ponyboy stayed in burnt down. Thus, Johnny died. Although they share a great deal of similarities the movie and novel are very different.
S.E Hinton, the author uses hyperbole and exaggeration to describe Johnny as a dark little puppy and Dally as strong. Have you ever heard the quote “the good ones die young”?. In the book called The Outsiders characters show they aren't who people think they are. In the book named the outsiders written by S.E Hinton two characters named Johnny and dally decide to go into a burning church to save children from a school. As Johnny and dally were leaving there was huge turn of events.

It is about a group of boys who are associated with “the greasers” and how they fight with “the socs” the main characters are two young boys named Johnny and Ponyboy. In the story Johnny got beat up by the socs when he was younger so he has been scared of them ever since. When Johnny and Ponyboy were at the park on day the socs rolled up in all their fancy cars and were threatening them. Ponyboy was getting drowned so Johnny freaked out and stabbed the top soc, Bob.

In this book report I will talk about the book “The outsiders” written by S.E. Hinton, I will do a review of the story, the point of view, theme, symbols and my opinion about this book I really liked to read for the English class. The story is about a boy named Ponyboy who lived in a small town in Texas with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop were a gang war was taking place between two different social class people: The Socs and the Greasers. Ponyboy will learn the consequences bad acts can bring to your life in the middle of a gang war. The greasers were a middle class and not so social kind of people who liked to get in trouble and The other gang The Socs were a most of them a high class or middle-high class group of people who where they went they will always go in groups of like three or four people.
Imagine having to deal with the stress of being beat up, but still hoping and praying for it to end. This is what happens in The Outsiders, and also a theme that comes up in the poem “Poverty and Wealth.” As of now in the book, The Outsiders is a great book and makes good connections to real life, so I will explain its connections to the poem. First, I will give a quick summary of the poem and book.
After reading ‘The Outsiders’, I have really started to get to know the characters. My favorite character is Dally. I like him because he is kind of like a leader in the group. He doesn’t take anything from anyone. Everytime somthing exciting happens he is always the one to step in and sauce it up.

“Who’s gonna make me?” I heard Dallas Winston yell as I walked closer to the group around Cherry. Apparently Cherry and Dallas had been arguing before I walked over there it was something about he wouldn’t get his feet off of her chair or something like that. I politely called to Cherry, “Mom and dad told me to ask what time you think you’d be home.” “Just tell them a few hours,” Cherry said loudly as Dallas stormed off.
Outsiders & Outcasts Is being an outsider lonely and hurtful, or is it beneficial in the future? Rihanna was left out as a kid because of how she looked (Abadi 2017). Throughout the novel we see the Greasers and the Soc in constant conflict, fighting and rumbling for gang dominance. Ponyboy is greatly affected by this and is already questioning the point of violence. Close to the end of the text the Greasers and the Socs plan a rumble to occur one night. Before the fight, Ponyboy meets Randy Anderson (a Soc) at the Tasty Freeze Diner where they have a conversation. Ponyboy realises that Randy is, “not going to show at the rumble” and that he is, “sick of rumbles because they don't do any good.”
The character Johnny grows in major ways throughout The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Johnny was a greaser, His best friend was Ponyboy, the main character. Johnny was a dynamic character, he contributed a lot to the main theme. Johnny had bad parents and committed murder. Soon after his bad acts, he became a hero.
