Welcome back to today's Timeless Tales Episode on ABC, today we are going to be going into depth on the outstanding novel written by S.E Hinton, “The Outsiders”. We are investigating how the different qualities of the timeless tale contribute to its literary value, and finding out what exactly makes "The Outsiders” timeless.

Susan Eloise Hinton, who was born in the 1950s, describes her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, as "a pleasant place to live if you don't want to do anything." She started writing the novel "The Outsiders" when she was fifteen, inspired by how she felt about the social inequalities in her high school and the lack of realistic fiction for teenage readers. A quote about Johnny before he killed Bob; “Johnny was scared to death. I mean it. He was as white as a ghost and his eye was wild looking, like the eyes of an animal in a trap.” This represents the feelings Johnny had before, compared to the quote after the death: “I was trembling and it wasn’t all from the cold. But Johnny, except for the fact that his hands were twitching looked as cool as Darry ever had”.
