It had more narration so the reader could understand what is happening. Secondly, the movie. The movie was different than the book. It had some parts that were in the book, but it lacked some details.
This is my writing assignment comparing The Outsiders movie and book. My favorite quote was“Stay gold Ponyboy” which means Do not go tuff and stay like yourself because you are once in a lifetime. My opinion of both the movie and the book are pretty good. The book was only a little better because it was longer and it had more parts on the other hand the movie you can hear and see more and feel more when you can actually picture it.
In the movie it there are two sister. The movie was a lot like the book and a lot different at the same time but that for the next paragraph. In the movie billy was given the gold cup and he never won the silver cup. Little ann and Old dan weren't running around and they didn't have snow on them during the blizzard. Finally i will be talking about the similarities and differences between the book and movie.

My final is about the difference between the book and the movie “The Outsiders.” This next paragraph is about the description difference between the book and movie. Then the paragraph after that will be about the description of the background or cars that the characters drive or live in. I think that the move and the book where basted of the same story but I think that when the directors made the movie with some different cars or house that can change the movie or they put different things in it so that the movie will look better. Altogether the movie and the book were pretty good and had good meaning to it about want to think of life and it’s alright to not be tough and hard.
For instance you get to know what Ponyboy looks like,on page one in the book it says “I have light brown hair almost red and greenish gray eyes.” You also get to know Cherry more. For example you get to find out her real name and hair color. On page 22 it says “my name’s Sheri, but I’m called Cherry because of my hair.” First the book has more events than the movie because in the book there was a court hearing.
The Outsiders has many differences between the book and the movie.
People always think one is better than the other, and this is why I think the book is better than the movie. Why the book seemed it had more events, and that some of the events in the movie didn’t match the book was by in the book they started on the corner of the street but in the movie it started with Ponyboy writing the theme. The movie also described Johnny and Ponyboy different than in the book. It said
In 1983, Francis Ford Coppola created the film version of S.E. Hinton’s book The Outsiders. In the movie and the book, the story takes place in a town where people are segregated by where they live. People on the east side were called greasers, and people on the west side were referred to as the socs. The main character remains the same in both the movie and the novel; his name is Ponyboy. In the book, and the story basically the same thing happens to Ponyboy, with a couple differences sprinkled here, and there.
For example, in the book, only one person drowns Pony, but in the movie, three people drowned him. This is different because in the book Pony is being drowned at the water fountain by only one person. On the other hand in the movie Pony is getting drowned by three people instead of one like it is in the story. Another comparison between the book and the movie would be when Ponyboy goes to court and doesn’t testify in the book, but in the movie he does. These are different because in the book when Pony has to go to court for the murder of Bob he doesn’t testify in the movie when he goes to court he does testify.
The movie and novel share similar qualities. For example, both feature all of the same characters. Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop are brothers.
As I watched The Outsiders movie I realized that there were many differences and similarities to the book. Overall, me being picky, personally thought that the movie was different from the book. I liked the movie, however, I think that I would probably like the movie better if I hadn’t had read the book, that way I would feel so strongly about the who I think the characters are. The scenes were pretty accurate to the book in the movie and there weren’t a lot of scenes that were different, or not in the movie. One of these times was in was in the rumble when it started raining, even though it didn’t in the movie.
A book and a movie can be both the same and different. In The Outsiders there are many similarities and differences with the book and movie. They were the same because Johnny kills a man, they cut their, there was the movie scene, and Johnny and Ponyboy went to the church. Some of the differences is when Darry slaps Ponyboy but in the movie he pushes him, Johnny doesn't bring a lot of food in the book but does in the movie he does, when Johnny killed the man it was more described but it wasn't in the movie, and Johnny says he wants to kill himself in the movie. In The Outsiders one of the themes is “friendship”
When turning a book into a movie, many things need to be taken into consideration. Including every detail explicitly can be quite difficult for producers and directors, and The Outsiders is no exception. Written by S.E. Hilton, the story follows the Greasers, a group of young kids who face adult situations while they are viewed as menaces to society. While the movie has many similarities to the book and covered the basic storyline, the movie lacked and altered some key details, and featured information differing from the book.
The sequence in the novel explained more what happened and everything was in order. One thing is that the sequence in the movie was out of order so it didn't make sense. It also happened really fast in the movie. In the novel, at the end,it tells us who was writing the story. It was in first person and in the movie a lot of the characters would talk so it changed the point of view.
