The Outsiders Moral Lesson

I read 2 very different books this summer. I read “Death Cloud” by Andrew Lane, and “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. I enjoyed getting to know the character and their morals in the different books. Both book had very different time frames, very different neighborhoods, and very different people. I enjoyed getting to know the gang’s idea of family in “The Outsiders.” I also enjoyed following Sherlock into his first ever mystery. I learned many different morals and life lessons that I want to share.

Humphrey’s gave me, I immediately knew it reminded me of Sherlock. While the image was a little obscure and confusing, in my mind I understood it. Sherlock starts getting suspicious as people start dying in his Uncle’s neighborhood. Sherlock learns of Baron Maupertuis’ evil plan to get revenge on the men in the British army. Many years ago the British army killed the Baron’s father. The Baron put a scent on all the shipments of clothes that he sent to the British army. The scent attracted bees, the men that wore the shirts would get stung so many times that they would die covered in bee stings. Sherlock stops the Baron’s plan by blowing up all the bees. The image in my mind was a machine making honey. Sherlock reminded me of the song “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. sherlock was fighting to stop the Baron and his plan.
Sherlock defeated the Baron, Ponyboy was cleared of charges, I learned some life lessons. You would think it would be a win win, right? Well, it wasn’t entirely. As for the book “Death Cloud,” Sherlock may have stopped the Baron’s plan, but the Baron is still out there. Also, in “The Outsiders,” The gang has two less members, and a lot to be sad about.
