The fossils which can be observed include brachiopods and rugose corals. Specific species of corals have been identified in Bellapenna’s report since they are the most widespread fossil within the Cordell dolostone. The interbedded chert can be observed in the field. The gradation of gray to blue to brown chert nodules can also be observed. Bellapenna also suggests there are quartz and garnet grains within the Dolostone.
Through testing, the scientists and historians concluded that the skeleton most likely belonged to an indentured servant. “In short, indentured servants did any job the master demanded. And if they died before their term of service ended, their remains met with whatever fate their master chose. At times, masters “treated their dead servants like a waste product,” said Luckenbach.” (Walker,
Mastodon fossils have been found early in the excavation. In 1917, a report was published on a fragment of right maxilla where the author, Peterson, claimed that the Mastodon remains are “‘by far the most common in the Saltville deposit’” (Ray 616). A sample of Mammut Americanum fossils found before 1967 are deeply worn molars, cheek teeth, and multiple mandibular tusks ranging in size from 130 millimeters in length to about 1.5 meters in length. The largest and most recent Mammut tusk recovered is 2.13 meters in length (Moxley).
“Canada’s road was evolutionary, not revolutionary.” To what extent do you agree with this question? The road to Canada’s independence was evolutionary due to changes and factors such as the formation of the new country, the new leading government and it was mostly made of negotiations to find what will best fit the new country. After the English took over New France, at that time called Lower Canada.
“Canada’s road was evolutionary, not revolutionary.” To what extent do you agree with this question? The road leading to Canada’s independence was evolutionary due to a series of incremental changes and factors such as isolated rebellions, conferences, and the important acts. The Lower and Upper Canada to form a new country, and a new leading government which was mostly lead by the Constitution Act, 1867.

All of these people have a background in the archaeological field and have been on site in Guatemala where the tomb was discovered and studied.
This skeleton, named the “Kennewick Man” due to its location in Kennewick, Washington, was the oldest, most well-reserved skeleton found in North America. Shortly after the remains were unearthed, controversy and debate surrounded the home and origin of the skeleton. “Archaeologist Dr. James Chatters, working on contract with the Benton County coroner, thought that the bones might not be Native American.” If this were proven to be true, it would cause massive waves in what we thought we knew about our science and history. Initially classified as “Caucasoid”, Chatters modified his
As everything has its background, Texas transportation has it too. According to Calvin Jillson, is not new that the infrastructures in the state aren’t on good conditions. In the middle eighteen, Texas was also struggling with their roads. Cal Jillson points out how the people like the army, travelers, farmers, etc. reacted to the state road condition. They all reported their concern for the lack of well-marked roads.
Staten Island did not play a major role in the American Revolution and Civil War. The area was only used as an entrance to Manhattan and Brooklyn where the troops held their forts. Then in 1898 when Staten Island made the decision to join New York City, the county eliminated their separate towns, yet was still known as Richmond County. Staten Island also went through a very large industrialization movement where the Verrazano Bridge was built. The Verrazano Bridge played an enormous role in the success of Brooklyn because Staten Island is the midpoint of Brooklyn and New Jersey.
The skeleton—affectionately dubbed Naia, after the water nymphs of Greek mythology—turned out to be one of the oldest ever found in the Americas, and the earliest one intact enough
Andre Cole Ricardo Acosta G. English 101 September 22, 2015 Do Killer Whales Actually Belong in Captivity? Ever since wild animals such as Killer Whales have been captured and kept in theme parks and zoos as amusement, there have been issues on whether they should or shouldn’t be kept in captivity. Killer Whales, otherwise commonly referred to as Orcas, have regularly been taken away from the sea at a very young age so they can be trained, raised and kept in theme parks for exhibition. Although theme parks no longer capture whales from the wild, they are still bred in captivity for public display at marine parks such as Sea World (Gorman).
The Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) is one of the largest of the Cetaceans. They are fairly well known, even outside of the scientific community. They are identifiable by their dark grey dorsal color, white underbellies, very long pectoral flippers and by their habits of breaching and raising their tales above the water before diving. Their range expands tropical, temperate, and sub polar waters all around the world. They migrate in search of breading grounds and feeding grounds.
The Clatsop Indians were great fish-eaters, and loved to eat sea animals. After discovering a 105 feet long whale, blubber became a tasty addition to their diet. Lewis, Clark, and I were friendly with the Mandan tribe, but didn’t like the Clatsop Indians because the Clatsop were used to traders and drove a hard bargain. We exchanged some goods, including a sea otter pelt, for fishhooks and a small bag of Shoshone tobacco. The Clatsop tribe informed us that there was a good amount of elk on the south side of the
The reasons that archaeologist give as the significance of studying ancient Native American skeletal remains is that they want to study about the lives of others in the past. They want to know who Native Americans are, their origins, and their heritage. The skeletal remains offer the
The marine layer is a fossil layer found in the Grand Canyon. The marine layer consists of Stromatolites, which is the oldest fossil at the Grand Canyon. Trilobites are extinct marine anthropoids. Trilobites are found in the Tonto Group, Crinoids, Brachiopods the most common animal in the seas, Bryozoans, Corals, Sponges, and Burrows.
