In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D Salinger & Chbosky’s movie, The Perks of being a Wallflower, both of the protagonists are grieving over a death of a loved one. Both characters have been stranded in a pathway, looking to move on, but in every step of the way, learning from their journey. Holden from the Catcher in the Rye, has been through a tragic loss of someone who was dearly loved. After the loss of his brother, he isolates himself from the society keeping himself in his childhood. Charlie, the protagonist of The Perks of being a wallflower, loses a loved one, this loss creates him to produce these false thoughts, leading to a huge change. Both experienced the path to letting go and moving on. Although this path wasn’t so easy, they soon experienced peace and acceptance in their society. He soon goes into therapy, and leaves and a better person. He goes back home living a regular life not showing any signs of being consumed by the fault he had token to be in charged of.
