Oftentimes people correlate certain emotions and events in regards to specific seasons. The novel “ Scarborough ” written by Catherine Hernandez, portrays the concept of death, bitter emotions and holiday spirit in the chapter of winter. To begin, one of the major events that happen during the season of winter is Laura’s death. This is evident when the text states, “ I only knew her name after she had died, and the news was all over the Scarborough Mirror. Laura Mitkowski ” (Hernandez 180).
Charlie is a good student, he attends school regularly, has earned a perfect attendance certification and is a all-around good student. The issues Charlie faces at home is not being able to grow up with a positive role model. He never had the opportunity to be surrounded by a father figure. Adolescents can sometimes find it difficult to go through their lives and not being able to have a two parent household. Charlie made a rational choice on the night of the killing; 1) he was motivated to kill George because he felt like his mother was dead, 2)
His and Charlie’s tastes were very different. Michael hated reading whereas Charlie loved reading so much he even became an author. Charlie’s books were the only books Michael even read. Michael wasn’t going to lie, his brother wasn’t the next Shakespeare or even as good as J. K. Rowling but Charlie was pretty okay at writing. The reason Michael even read his books, besides the fact that they were brothers, was that Charlie often wrote about things that the two brothers had gone though as kids.
“Laura Wishart is dead.” (Silvey, P.230) This repeated phrase represents the human nature of sin and guilt. After dumping Laura’s body into the dam, Charlie constantly reminds himself that “Laura Wishart is dead.” Repetition of the phrase is shown after every major decision made by Charlie, linking his actions to the death of Laura Wishart.
Charlie friends have not talk to him since that incident. Charlies have been back at school but things have not got any better because he can't do the things he used to do with his friends. He spending a lot of time alone at the mall and people watch. The only person he has talked to in the last two weeks was Susan, a girl he knows back in middle school. One day he saw her in the hallway and goes up to asks her if she misses Michael.

Even thought he had a very dark past, he acts very socially and nice but dosen´t know then to react For example he didn't know how to end his relationship with Mary Elizabeth. As a person he could be really dangerous then he gets angry, He could easily beats up Brads gang then they attacked his friend Patrick. In the end I think Charlie learnt how to conquer his fears and his guilt about his Ant Helen And i can easily say that´s all thanks to his good friend Sam.
In Perks of Being a Wallflower, the novel introduces a character named Patrick, Patrick has suffered from bullying because he is unique; his sexuallity choices have made him stand out from the rest of the average crowd. He is also experiencing problems with his partner Brad. Brad and Patrick are in a relationship and Brad is not quite ready to come out . He also bullies Patrick to demonstrate that he has no connection with Patrick. Because of this, Patrick is hurt and does not know what to do to escape from the fact that Brad is not ready to go public with Patrick. Nevertheless, he consumes drugs to try to forget what he is going through.
Adolescence is a time of many changes including puberty, high school and finding one’s identity. Among the many changes in this period of development there are many new experiences combined with a greater amount of responsibility. Adolescence can be a difficult time for many people especially when trying to find out who they want to be. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a movie about a freshmen in high school who is going through experiences most kids his age do. Depression, suicide, peer pressure, first love, and the importance of friends and family are all elements in the development of an adolescent.
