Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, we are here today to talk about the book The Pigman written by Paul Zindel. This book is a good book to read because of the good foreshadowing and the good suspense in some places. Although this book may be old it is still a very good book for teenagers to read. It sends a good message about how you should act your own age and to not try to be someone you are not. John and Lorraine find that out the hard way, becasue they hang out with the Pigman and lie to him about most everything they leave a path that they could not go back on. Because they lie to Mr. Pignati they get in lots of trouble with the police and with their own parents. The main message that this book gives out is that teenagers should deal with their own actions. One of the main problems with this book the setting, New York,1967 because most teenagers dont know what it is like to live in a big city without electronics and cellphones. When this book takes place there isn’t such thing as cellphones or really any electronics for that reason because this is when you had to pay to you the telephone or five dollars is a lot of money. "Now Lourraine can blame all the other things on me..." says John on page 22 right before some major foreshadowing, which states "We didn’t murder him" when you first stumble upon this quote you wonder what he means by this because when this is stated you don’t really know who the Pigman is yet you only know what might happen to him. Later once the two teenagers start visiting Mr. Pignati she says "It got to the point where me and John would go to the Pigmans everyday after school. I think that it is wierd that two teenagers think it is okay to go and hang out with a man that is more than twice their own
