The Polar Bears Edge Out the Oilers My high school career is quickly coming to an end and with that comes the serious thoughts about what comes next. Deciding what college I want to go to and what I want to major in is a very important choice of mine. I have two colleges and majors in mind as of now. The colleges in mind are: The University of Findlay and Ohio Northern University. Both colleges are amazing schools, but I would major in different fields at the two colleges. ONU has a path to a Biomedical Engineering degree, and that is the major I am leaning towards more. Both colleges, Ohio Northern University and the University of Findlay, have a small campus and class size. At ONU, the average freshman class size is about nineteen students and the student to teacher ratio is 11:1 (“University Facts”). The tuition of the school is the biggest factor for me. I want to have the least amount of stress that comes with the debt of college. ONU’s tuition is $36,060 a year (“Tuition and Fees”). That is a little more than the UF but it is still manageable. I qualify for the same price of scholarship as the University of Findlay at ONU. Again, I have the chance for different scholarship that bring down the price of tuition. I would also be commuting to the college I choose so that would help bring down the costs of tuition. Both colleges have a doable tuition and scholarships that help lower the
