In the movie ‘ The Power of One’ Directed by John G. Avildsen, the character that was inspiring, entertaining and intriguing was Peter Phillip Kenneth Keith {Peekay}. He is the main character in the movie. Peekay’s parents died when Peekay was young, so he had to go live with his grandparents but they give him to their friend who is named Doc. Peekay is a young English boy, who grew up in Africa, whose life we see from when he is 7 years old to 18 years old adult. He has blonde hair, brown eyes, white skin and he lived with Doc. He likes boxing so he started to learn to box at the age of 12 years old. When he came with Doc to the prison, so he became a champ at his school and later in the movie, he joins a boxing gym which has both white and African people together. …show more content…

He is very caring no matter what skin color they are, he cares about everyone because he is anti-racism and does not discriminate between his people and Africans people. Peekay think he is a useless unit, Doc tells him that he isn't but he also finds himself useless again when Piet dies because he couldn't do anything to save him, but he had to watch him die in his arms. Firstly I think that Peekay is very brave/courageous because how he united the tribes of Africans people together. When they were having their concert, he was supposed to translate what the police officer was saying but instead, he said ‘Tonight let us be one under the Africans sky,’ meaning he doesn’t care about what anyone would think even if they could understand him. Later in the film, he shows that by joining a gym with white and black people. He even starts teaching them English even though he knows the risks of doing that. In the end, Maria dies but he doesn't blame anyone that shows him being very brave. He could have said that because he was teaching the African and blamed
