Problems Of Climate Change

One of the most important problems here and now is climate change. But what is it? How will it affect us? To understand climate change, you first need to know about the greenhouse effect. Well, pretend that the Earth is inside a giant greenhouse. Light from sun warms the land, water and air. The warmed-up Earth gives off heat which rises into the sky. In the Earth’s atmosphere, gases like carbon dioxide and methane act like the glass walls and roof of a greenhouse. They prevent some of the heat from escaping into space, which keeps the Earth warm enough for plants, animals and humans to live in. These gases are called greenhouse gases. Without them, all of the heat would escape back into space, and the Earth would become about 60 degrees colder.

People can connect to each other from very far away by phone, travel to anywhere by modern vehicles… But go along with those benefits are negative affect the habitat of all species and the atmosphere of the Earth. In the process of development, people are increasingly using more energy. Especially fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas,…) increase greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, causing greenhouse gases to heat up. In reality, the annual average temperature had been increasing since 1958 until now. The temperature in Winter increases faster than Summer. The amount of rain from May to October had decreased from 5% to more than 10% and some places had increased from 5% to 20%. Weather is becoming increasingly severe, sea level rising, sea water is gradually warming up, ice melting phenomenon in polar and Greenland, carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere are rising… All of these indications are mainly come from human activities. Because of the rapidly increasing population density, high demand for housing, food, factories are built ... Meanwhile, the forest is being exploited and destroyed, many species of wildlife almost fall into extinction. Agriculture is the most severely affected sector, sea level rise causes loss of arable land, the intensity of the cold in the winter decreases, and longer periods of sunshine affect the growth of species in the region. Sea level rise also causes salinity intrusion, the ability to drain water reduces the difficulty for irrigation. Most industrial zones in the low plains are vulnerable to climate change, especially sea level rise, food processing industry faces many obstacles to the processing of products. Climate change adversely affects transportation infrastructure. Many road sections may be flooded, landslide breaks bridges.
