Chapter 3: The story of the Prodigal son is a story most people can relate to as it is one of seeking out on one's own and then finding one's way back home. God's door is always open, He knew when He created us that we would sometimes go astray. As for me, my human nature told me a few times I am glad Jesus stood in my stead because if I was living in the Old Testament times, God would have gotten rid of me a long time ago!

We are born, we grow, life happens and then we die. I remember someone saying, "There's one sure thing about life, no one gets out alive!" Many times I am sure it has been asked, why do we exist, or what is my or our purpose? I believe God not only had a plan for each of us long before we were born, but if one was to really think about it, in addition to God's plan, He knew exactly where he wanted us to be placed. Some hurt caused by others, while quite a bit is self-induced. To believe in something not seen is what some were asked to do, but as time passed and Jesus showed up on the scene, things began to change. In the Old Testament God gave the people prophets trying to convince them that He did exist, yet, although it was believed that Prophets shared God's word, the people still were not convinced. I believe God, in His last effort to save His creation, sent Jesus so that humankind could see God, in the flesh. Yet again, the people went astray. The voice of God is widespread, and the coolest thing about God's word is, even the devil hears it! Sitting still and actually listening is sometimes hard, but God does hear our prayers, and He answers prayers that are good for us, but like any parent, a allows us to do our own thing by answering our own, which sometimes leads to not-so-good
