Has technology helped or has it damaged society? The generations today live in a world that is heavily influenced and driven by technology, which poses a debate of whether it helps or harms individuals. People have mixed feelings about technology. A few may argue that technology is damaging each generation that passes. From their perspective, their view can be understood by examining the world outside. However, technology has made a major breakthrough for good. Jawaharlal Nehru, an Indian prime minster, states “science and technology have freed humanity from many burdens and given us this new perspective and great power. This power can be used for the good of all. If wisdom governs our actions; but if the world is mad or foolish, it can destroy …show more content…
A challenge that doctors face when doing transplants are whether the patient rejects or accepts the organ. In the field of medicine 3D bioprinting will allow transplants to be more successful. The idea of 3D bioprinting of organs is that the patience own cells will be used to create the organ. In addition, their goal is would be less likely for the patient to reject the organ, as well as not taking so much medication. Dr. Antony Atala director, Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine states “This is certainly one advantage of customized organs.”(Atala 2) Dr.Atala quote states that there will be more advantages of a customized organ than a matched organ by a …show more content…
A problem that the field of medicine has face is a shortage of organ donations. The 3D bioprinting of the organs will allow patience’s in the waiting list the opportunity to have more of a chance to live. The 3D bioprinting of organs will solve not only the donor shortage, but as well as saving more lives. In the United States, according to the worldometers the population is 323,510,247 and 121,377 people are in the waiting list for an organ. However, 78,019 thousand people are active candidate for an organ. Why a shortage of organs when the U.S population outnumber the people in the waiting list for an organ? The problem is that there aren’t many donors, which along the waiting time for the patient. A donor can save eight lives, yet 22 people are still dying everyday waiting for an organ. For a person in the waiting list to get an organ, another person compatible to them has to die or be brain dead. A life for another life would not be necessary with 3D biopriting of organs. Finally a reason of that can be said about 3D bioprinting of organs is it helps with damage tissue. Tissue also known as muscle can be damaged for any reason. Damaged tissue can’t always be repaired. A method for treating damaged or tar muscle is ice and rest. It isn’t easy to repair tissue cause in the kidneys and the heart. Damage tissue for example, kidneys would damage blood
