Also, the Dallas Police Organization is continuously implementing and enhancing programs to involve citizens of all demographic areas of the city, to bring their diverse ideas to have a better community. Three Trails of Officers Acquitted in the fatal shooting of African Americans Shootings of African Americans by police in the USA is inflating. Officers involved in shootings are being discharged from trials. While people who advocate officers seem to be convinced with guiltless conclusions, victims’ families and others who defend them, call the trails as “implicit bias” against minorities. The three trails of the officers Jeronimo Yanez, Ray Tensing and Dominique Heaggan- Brown support such situation. Officer Ray Tensing’s trial ended in a mistrial and other two were found not guilty.
This says that at almost every level of the Criminal Justice System there is racial discrimination against Black Americans. The Criminal Justice System is racially biased. The Criminal Justice System is even prejudice from the very beginning of the imprisonment process.
Normally when a police officer arrives at your house, or pulls you over it means dreadful things, like an expensive ticket. These racial biases are detrimental to society because it leads to many innocent individuals becoming incarcerated. Though officers appropriately released Rodriguez, many others are not as lucky, thus creating a large population of colored individuals in prison. The disproportional ratio of whites to colored inmates perhaps only feeds racial biases because individuals of color are the ones who understood to be criminals. Another important aspect worth investigation is whether or not racial profiling by police officers is a result of the corrupt views of racist officers. A video shown during lecture displayed interviews with officers whom admitted to seeing racism in some of their fellow officers, and often turning a blind eye towards it.
Shantel, Keisha, Keonte’, Latoya, and Mo’Nique are all black sounding names that will not get someone hired at certain jobs. Raven-Symone’ was recently interviewed on a talk show named The View and said that she would not hire an African American if their name sounded too black, in other words, ghetto. “The diversification of baby names in America started in the late 1960s during a larger socio cultural shift that emphasized individuality” (Jerkins). African Americans are always judged by their skin color, their race, and now their name. Many employers are bias against African Americans without even knowing that they are.
As the shootings of the unarmed African Americans unfolded, there were two different viewpoints on what the circumstances were. African Americans believed that it was solely because the white cops were being racist towards their race, and White Americans believed it to be because the policemen were doing their job and trying to keep themselves safe. Unfortunately people don’t have the ability to see the thoughts going through the police officers head to justify whether or not they were being hateful towards African Americans or genuinely concerned for their safety, and is also the reasoning of why we are so divided in terms of beliefs and views on these types of situations. New York Times writers Timothy Williams and Michael Wines discussed that, “ Both black anger at police killings and the boiling frustrations of some whites who feel they are ceding their long-held place in society have been constant undercurrents in politics” ( New York Times). The controversial actions of police brutality leaves us in an endless battle to prove the other side wrong which is why we are divided as a nation.
Unfortunately, police officers are rarely prosecuted for the shootings and excessive force. In fact, Rudovsky states that officers will often seem more credible than a citizen (Vox). Officers are more likely to be charged than convicted, the punishment being dismissed from the police force. However, there are numerous cases in which the officer is charged with assault on an African American and is "temporarily removed" from their position, such as the Miami police officer who kicked an unarmed black man in the head. The effect of the lack of prosecution has prompted many African Americans to not only strive for a change in the law enforcement but also to not trust the police anymore.
The murder of Oscar Grant was another case of racial profiling. Oscar Grant had been celebrating the New Years with some of his close friends and girlfriend. At 2:00 officers had responded to a report that a fight had broken out on the train. Grant was snatched off a train because police “felt” he was a part of the riot on the train, but he had nothing to do with it. In fact the train conductor said “Grant wasn’t one of the men that had been involved in the fight”.

Even they were racial profiling me, another black man." while most black men don't commit any crime, of men who commit crime, a disproportionately number are African-American.
However, research demonstrates that often times men of color are treated harshly which leads to negative perceptions of police officers. Police brutality is a crime that is has been surfacing in the news recently. Some people are just starting to realize that these injustices against the black community really occur, while others are well aware. The recent shootings, different run-ins with officers being filmed while doing such harmful actions against African American men is an example of police brutality and, that reminds us that as a society work needs to be done to improve police and community relations. A black male cannot even walk down the street on a cold night because he might be a suspect from something or he may be of danger to the people around.
This leads to serious mistrust and disrespect of police officers. Within the last few years, there have been multiple police shootings of minorities. Some believe that many of these shootings were unjustified and has led to violent protests in certain cities. It has also led to the Black Lives Matter movement. It is understanding why individuals become upset with law enforcement when they are constantly reminded of these incidents where minorities are shot and killed by police officers.
According to the text the criminal justice system is racist, because Martin Luther King day, for instance ,senator Barack Obama charged that blacks and whites “are arrested at very different rates and receive very different sentenced.” A example for this would be the book we are currenting A lesson before dying . A black man went to the store with two of his black friends and they shot a white man the boy name jefferson didn't do anything but by him being a black man and a white man is dead he is going to get charged with murder and a death sentence. If it was the other way around and a white man killed black mans he would of been let go and not charged but if they do charge him he would not get that much time. Our justice system is just messed up but that's just how things are today.
think that VCs are hard to regulate and monitor, as they involve different entities locally and internationally, most of the outside the traditional monetary system.
