A Bressler Report released in August of 1977 pertaining to three of the key aspartame studies reviewed by the FDA task force concluded that: • In one study 98 out of 196 animals died but were autopsied until a year later, then tissues in some of those were unable to be tested. • The pathology reports and reports submitted to the FDA had differences in 30 or more animals. • One of the animals was reported alive until week 88, dead for weeks 92-104, alive again in week 108, and the finally dead at week 112. • An infectious disease outbreak was never reported to the FDA. • Tissue samples were unavailable for analysis on pathology sheets but results from the “unavailable” tissue was submitted to the FDA. • Evidence of the diet mix was not homogeneous …show more content…

Gold, 2002) The FDA approved NutraSweet Company’s application in 1992 to market aspartame in bulk form. NutraSweet markets the bulk product as “NutraSweet Spoonful.” NutraSweet a trademark name of aspartame signed contracts in 1992 with Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo.
