Animal Testing has been defined as an advantage to human health and development, but having been done for the last 19 centuries, should Animal Testing be further continued for human advantages? Historical Aspects The United States has contradicted itself by passing laws against animal abuse/cruelty and creating The Animal Welfare. Historically speaking animal testing has been around longer than these laws, but since 95% of animals are not protected under the welfare act, it doesn’t make sense to have anti-animal cruelty laws when the welfare is not enforced or regulated as much as possible in order to change these statistics. Since March 14th, 2014 animal abuse of any kind as become a punishable crime by law in every state in the United States; which brings up the question, is animal testing not abuse and or abusive? The legal definition of animal abuse is the crime of inflicting physical pain, suffering or death on an animal(). The Romans once said “man is the measure to all things” meaning that all of life’s value lead to man as an individual and since the dawn of time man has upheld hubris over everything; including animals. Animals in no question we’re here before man ever stepped foot on earth and started to evolve, which in one’s opinion doesn’t give us, as human beings, the right to put ourselves before there's; Even though it has been keen to our survival. There is no morally relevant difference between human animals and adult mammals, we have taken advantage of the use of animals and have based them in our everyday diets, and lives in general. Therefore to continue testing on them for the out most absurd reasons has been drawn out for too many years, and has been deemed inhumane by the New England Anti-Vivisection Society is a Boston-based, national animal advocacy organization. A major contributor to animal testing has been universitiy studies who make this argument and don’t plan on changing their harsh ways towards animals(neavs). A good solution is to be more forceful with the animal welfare act and animal cruelty laws in general, if we show consequences to those no uplifting these laws maybe a change will come to be because in the end this argument will always be opinion
