Without animal testing, the only alternative remains are theories or a supercomputer. That means the medicines that are not physically tested will be creating greater risks for human lives. Therefore, animal testing is considered as a perfect alternative for human drug testing. A proven and medically or physically tested product is safe for human to use against diseases and for improved surgical procedures (Moberg 2013). Without animal testing, science might encounter a total standstill. There might be an alternative for certain diseases; however, the study of diarrhea, kidney transplantation or high blood pressure might not be possible with only a computer screen. The sensible thought that makes animals more essential for use in scientific research is that even supercomputers are not capable of handling just half of a …show more content…
In addition, the majority of humans eat animal based food such as meat products regularly however; this is not called “cruel” by the people who make arguments against animal testing in the labs. Without animal testing in scientific research, there might be no other alternative means of testing a medical substance because the lives of human beings are more vital than the lives of animals. Medical research that involved animal testing has dramatically improved the human health and wellness (Kilkenny, et al. 2010). For example, animal testing has made possible the cure for polio that would have not been possible without animal testing. However, the criticisms of the people who are against animal testing believe that animal testing should be banned. Some of them believe that this is cruel. However, in any case, human life is more important than animals. Opponents of animal testing also argue that the results of the labs do not apply to humans. However, there still have been enough similarities that provide sufficient results for application of the medical substance in human
