The Pros And Cons Of Armed Teachers

If a gunman comes through the front doors of your school, what do you do? With the gunman roaming the halls students and staff have to face the reality of what could happen next. Teachers will anxiously try to hide their students, as they get their gun ready. Arming a teacher would provide more protection for the students, than having no armed teachers at all. There will be a smaller chance of students and staff members getting killed. Armed teachers can stop school violence.
First, a teacher with a gun is the student’s first line of defense. David Thweat the superintendent from Harrold Independent School says “ The school would have to be their first response and they know the bad people from the good people. Matt Templeton a Harrold Independent School student says,“ I trust any teacher with a gun, and I have tried to figure out what teacher has a gun, but I still have not found out. Mike Blakely a former students from Harrold High School says,” I know the students feel safer, knowing that teachers have guns here, in case someone comes off the highway acting crazy.” (Youtube, The School Where Teachers are Armed”). The students could feel safer if the teachers were armed in the school because if there was any situation involving a gunman, the kids and the parents can feel safer knowing that teachers can protect everyone. A teacher with a gun can make the gunman think twice about coming into the school. This would allow the school to be a safer place and there would be a smaller chance of something happening.
