{ When you think of America, you think of freedom;} you would never think that people aren't allowed to read certain books. The United States government has been banning books from the people. Just in the last year, they’ve banned more than three hundred books. It is not the government's job to choose what the people can and cannot read. The people can make their own choices! (Needs a thesis) There are many reasons why banning books is not okay. People feel that if books are banned; they are getting their personal rights taken away from them. In the United States, people are given the freedom to read whatever they want. When the government bans a book because the information in the books is not appropriate for the people; they end up getting their personal rights taken away from them. It’s never okay to ban a book no matter the excuse. Some people even feel like they’re being stopped from learning and expanding their education and that is not okay. This means the government chooses what they want their people to know and this can cause people to be narrow-minded. When they grow up and go into society it will be hard for them to accept how society really is. This is because they learned one thing and that’s all they know and when they come to something that they weren't taught about it becomes hard for them to accept it.
