[3] Thankfully, My family has finished and successfully completed our seven years of slavery. [5] While we are recovering, we have realized how much family we have left in Virginia. [4] Focusing on moving on, we bought a wonderful ranch in Pennsylvania where I am able to care for horses and attend school in the community. [2] On the ranch we have planted our first corn crop, which we are excited about. [6] We have been well. [1] There are rumors about a war beginning with England and we are worried about you. [5] Because our master worked us as hard as he could, we were left with no energy or strength; but rest was all we needed. [4] Realizing we needed a home, we bought a beautiful and spacious ranch which we love and enjoy. [1] We finally moved into our home, a newly built house, and began to live a normal life. [6] We were grateful. [6] We helped one another. [6] We soon began to work. [2] From our garden, we enjoyed our first dinner together, which made us excited to be free while supporting ourselves in confidence.
