The human race is one of the fastest evolving species alive today. Not in the fact that homo sapiens can physically evolve quickly, but in the fact that they can create complex machines to do the heavy lifting for them. These complex machines, however, produce infinite amounts of pollution that affect the atmosphere, water quality and even the soil. These altercations to the planet as a whole are called climate change, and it can mutate aspects of every living organism. There are some, though, that believe climate change is something to be viewed in a beneficial and even benevolent light. Even though climate change has happened in the past, it hasn’t happened at a rate where it can be clearly felt that one summer is hotter than a summer a couple …show more content…
Roy Spencer, a climatologist and former NASA scientist, states that over “95% of climate models have over-forecast the warming trend since 1979 (Spencer).” The warming trend may be “over-forecasted,” but that does not change the evidence in the development of insects and plants. Amy Witherbee, a professor at the University of Arkansas, discredits computer models by saying digital technology cannot be used to understand the complexities of Mother Nature—the intermingling of water, wind, and earth that drive the different levels of greenhouse gasses. These gasses change and affect global temperatures far beyond human comprehension (Witherbee). Yes, earth is a strange place, but consulting years of data and making comparisons will show that the planet is on a warming trend and that it would be “better to be safe, than sorry” by taking action now and trying to right the wrong humans have done to the …show more content…
Fertilization from CO2 has be shown to strengthen antioxidants, vitamin C, fatty acids and improve plant growth. An example of plant growth is St. John’s wort, which is utilized for illness treatment. Overall, increased temperatures decrease temperature related deaths, such as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, and strokes (Idso, Singer & Carter). The growth of plants, however, encompasses all plants, not just the ones beneficial to living. It is not a far reach to see an increase in poisonous and deadly plant life if global warming is to continue at this rate. People who reason that global warming will have no negative repercussions cannot see what is happening right in front of
