Pure cocaine was first extracted from the leaves of the Erythroxylon coca bush. There are four key methods of taking in Cocaine, “snorting”, Injecting, freebasing- Cocaine hydrochloride is converted to a "freebase" which can then be smoked- and also turned into a rock type fragment. There are pros, as well, of course, cons of the usage of Cocaine. First, the pros. Besides being an extremely addictive and dangerous drug, cocaine has some medicinal use. Cocaine has been used as an anesthetic for eye and nasal surgery. Besides being an anesthetic, it also is a vasoconstrictor (constricts the blood vessels around the area where injected). Cocaine, illegal in every state in the U.S, is used in almost every place in the world, no matter how strict the laws are about the drug. There is a large use of cocaine slang words, mainly to keep criminals who are using or selling the highly addictive drug from getting themselves caught by mentioning the drugs actuall name.
