Since March 31st, 1906 , the day the NCAA was founded, it has been making a vast amount of money off of their athletes by selling various items such as jerseys. College athletes are the face of the organization and are one of main reason why most universities are well known. Why college athletes aren't getting paid for their sweat, blood and tears, is the number one argument in today's sport world.
Division one football and basketball are the most watched sports when it comes to the NCAA. These college athletes perform on national television and perform at their peak in order to represent the face of their university. On the other hand, NBA players come out on national television and get paid millions for performing the same task as collegiate athletes. although college athletes are said to receive scholarships, it is usually averaged to be around $25,000 which truly does not cover for all expenses.
