College football has changed a lot since back in the day. Just about every conference has changed by dropping or adding teams to said conferences. By doing this it has had different impacts to the conferences and the game as a whole. College football is made up of five different conferences called the power five. There are two divisions in each conference and the top two teams in them divisions play each other for the conference championship. One might think that would mean those are the best teams in that conference, right? This is not always the case, sometimes the better teams can be from the same divisions. The playoff committee seems to be a much better choice seeming how it actually gives more teams the opportunity to compete after the regular season for a national championship. The BCS system was better than nothing, but it was way far from perfect. It only allowed the number one and number two ranking teams to have a chance for a shot at a national championship. So, for instance if a team that is let’s say, 11-1 versus a team that is 10-2 and the team that is 10-2 has actually had a harder schedule and better wins, but the BCS system would mostly still pick the 11-1 team to play in the championship game. It was a half way broken system and this present committee fills in some of the cracks in the seam. The system still needs to be fined tuned, but by adding more teams in the playoffs, it would increase the fairness and add diversity, so it is not the same teams over and over again.
