Soon to be President of the United States, Donald Trump, has been appointing members to his cabinet. Many people believe he has not been making the best choices on these decisions. Many of his future members are not on the same page as most American citizens. Specifically, the Environmental Protection Agency, also known as the EPA, the Health and Human Services Secretary, and the Education Secretary.
The EPA Administrator's job is to enforce the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts along with many other environmental statutes. They normally sit amongst the President, Vice President and fifteen cabinet secretaries. Pruitt has described himself as a "leading advocate against the EPA's activist agenda". He has been Oklahoma's Attorney General since 2012, and has made questionable comments on global warming, fracking, and the Clean Power Plan. He has sued the EPA multiple times, including a few times in direct cooperation with fossil fuel companies. He believes that clean air and water are important to the country, but should be regulated through the state. Although Trump believes Pruitt will make a good EPA Administrator, many citizens don't agree.
Pruitt will not make a very good EPA Administrator. I feel he will not be very active and will push off the majority of his work on to the states. He is not decisive, and will continue to be indecisive. I believe he will not listen to what the people want, he will do what he feels is right, which does not seem to line up with the rest of America's opinion.
Another position Trump has appointed is the Health and Human Services Secretary. This position aides the President in healthcare decisions, approval of drugs, protects the health of American's, and provides essential human services. He has been a Congressman from Georgia since 2005. He ran an orthopedic clinic for 20 years then returned to his college to be an orthopedic professor. He is a member of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, which is against socialized medicine and the government takeover of medicine. He was a Senator for nine years, then became congressman from 2005 to the present date. He has been chosen to become the Health and Human Services Secretary for President Trump.
Price is qualified for the job and seems as though he will do well in this position. He has experience in the medical, education, and political fields which gives him knowledge of what the people want. One concern I imagine many people have is the amount of time it has been since he has been involved in the medical field. It is a fast developing area of our world and he is supposed to be making and enforcing laws that directly affect it.
Trump has also appointed who will be the new Education Secretary. This position entails responsibilities over the direction, supervision, coordination of the department which deals with everything related to education. The secretary oversees all the specific policies, programs, and activities that the people under them focus
