We can all agree that the 2016 presidential campaign is certainly interesting. Out of all, the entire nominees, without a doubt Donald Trump is one contender who surely stands out. Whether you agree or oppose his position, you have to admit, he is a force to be reckoned with. Trump is best known as a billionaire real estate mogul and a reality star, although these days he has made headlines for how he conducts himself in his political campaign as well as his controversial political views. How did Trump become one of the top runners in the 2016 election is a question, I’m sure, many of us would appreciate the back story of the tycoon we call Donald Trump.

Soon after Trump was offered a partnership with the Holiday Inn Corporation in 1984, he bought them out and renamed the facility Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. After a Hilton Hotel in Atlantic City failed to obtain a gambling license, Trump purchased it and renamed it Trump’s Castle. In 1990, he opened the largest hotel-casino in the world, the Taj Mahal. Naturally, there were issues with Trump’s empire and in 1990 the value of his estate declined from 1.5 billion to 500 million due to the decline of the real estate market. To keep his business from collapsing, he acquired several loans. In addition to his public financial woes, some believe he defamed his image with the divorce from his wife in 1991. He married again in 1993, although soon divorced in 1999; he fathered his fourth child named Tiffany Trump with Marla Maples. Trump married his current wife in 2005 and conceived his last child, Barron Trump with Melania Knauss. Throughout the years, Trump continued his rebellion against the president while making it clear that he is against Obama’s policies. “We are going to make our country great again”, is the slogan Trump used when he announced he will officially run for the Republican ticket for the 2016 elections. In true Trump fashion, he has made and has continued to make controversial remarks regarding other ethnicities. His derogatory remarks about the Mexicans and immigration caused NBC to separate business ties with him, which included the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants. Along with the pageants the Professional Golfers Association of America detached themselves as well as Macy’s. Obviously, Trump was not rattled by losing his ties with several endorsers considering in July 2015, he caused yet another media storm when he questioned John McCain military heroism. Without a doubt, Trump is definitely a person who is unapologetic for his views and is not afraid to be outspoken.
