Should all high schools in America be replaced by early college high schools? Why there are good reasons for students to go to early college high school, they are not always good reasons. Not all students would excel at early college high schools, school boards would be paying more money, and more students would be more likely to drop out.
Early college high schools should be for those students who work hard to achieve the accomplishment of earning an associate degree. Many students joke around and could care less about their education, but at an early college, it is imperative that students care about their school work. Siddharth has stated in his article Understanding the Concept of an Early College that “To achieve success in an ECHS, students need more than just academic skills. They must adapt to new expectations, learning styles, professors, and surroundings” (Siddharth). …show more content…

While school boards are trying to look after all their schools early colleges are more expensive and difficult to afford. Some schools are no longer being sponsored by their own school district and left for the college to fund. One example of this happening “In Ohio, Youngstown State University is transferring responsibility for an early-college high school on its campus to the nearby Eastern Gateway Community College because it can no longer afford to sponsor it” (Zehr). Early colleges are either excelling or failing to depend on the funding and how much the students are allowed with these schools promising students an associate degree how much money are the schools spending on these students? What would happen if there were just early colleges to attend, how much more money would have to be funded for every child to go to an early
