Hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” is an industry that is going to revolutionize the United States of America that we live in today. Fracking is a process in which you drill holes miles into the ground in order to push pressurized liquids through the earth, which will then cause small earthquakes underground that extract oil and natural gas. Natural gas is being used as the number one fuel for providing energy around the world. However, it is making life on earth better in more than just one way. Not only does this industry boost the economy, but it also makes the earth’s air cleaner by reducing CO2 emissions from the atmosphere. Also, with the rise of the industry, fracking has produced more than one half of a million jobs and thus boosting the economy in a positive way. From 2000-2010, 81 percent of added power capacity was fueled by natural gas and that number is rising. Electricity producers are turning to natural gas as their fuel of choice because it is more cost efficient. Since it is cheaper to use as fuel, people are not billed as much monthly on their electricity and heat bills. It is stated that fracking wells will supply enough energy for the decades to come. When the electricity companies use natural gas as …show more content…

Some may say that fracking for this natural gas destroys the earth and the groundwater, but what they don’t know is natural gas also produces 43 percent fewer carbon emissions as well as a greenhouse gas, which indeed helps the earth more than hurting it. A greenhouse gas is a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect by absorbing carbon dioxide. So not only does it release less amount of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), but it also takes out current CO2 that exist in the atmosphere. This then improves the way we live physically by supplying cleaner air to breathe. However, this industry supplies the United States with a better economic life as a
