Fracking, a method is known as a way to generate less harmful impact on our environment is actually a method that might lower the amounts of Carbon in the air but greatly does much damage to the communities in which Fracking takes place. Developed in 1947, the idea of Fracking became popular in use by the end of the 1990’s and then became an adopted use under the Obama administration and other countries(Hydraulic Fracturing, J. Hydraulic Fracturing or what is known as Fracking is a process in which huge amounts of water, sand, chemicals, and other materials are packed in shale formation and infused into the ground. At first this might not seem like a big deal because the effects are not drastically impacting on every area but however, the demolished land is affecting communities and even more importantly the water that is drunken from.Water is the key to human life and if Fracking continues what is going to happen to our water supply? We should care about Fracking because as much as people believe that Fracking is building the future, it is destroying the future because our water supply is in danger which we live off of in order to exist. Additionally, Fracking is something that we should care about because Fracking is not only practiced in the U.S, but it is also practiced in many countries around the globe such as China, Russia, Great Britain, Poland, Argentina, Libya, Canada and is now being tested out by countries such as South Africa and Australia. It is also believe according to CTR.org that “Shale gas in its 2009 outlook, by 2012 the EIA was reporting that more than one-quarter of U.S. natural gas production was from shale—a figure the EIA estimated would increase to one-half by 2035” (Hydraulic Fracturing, J. To take action on Fracking many people can get involved and form group protests that eventually can grow in size and push an individual states to ban Fracking. Also, there are ways to constrict Fracking and potentially stopping it from happening in your community by taking part in the voting for representative state officials that address Fracking as not a benefitting factor and vote for officials that are more environmentally favorable. Additionally, we can solve the issues of Fracking by protesting and using of state officials to address the loopholes in environmental laws the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. These acts contain loopholes about how gas and oil waste are not considered harmful even though these acts are suppose to be protecting the environment but because of the statement about waste Fracking companies are allowed to continue contaminating water without violating any codes(Clean Air Act. Likewise, the people can try to reach out to environmental activist and gain media support to grab attention of others in order for the issue to become known so that it could be fought against with more support and attention("EPA report on fracking raises more questions than answers", December. 2016).
