According to U.S. News Best Cars the 2015 GMC Canyon is the #1 Midsize truck in its class with a 8.8 overall rating. Its two competitors the Toyota Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier. The Canyon is the most expensive but it also has the best ratings. It wins in 3 categories, ties with the Toyota in one and loses to the Toyota in one (Compare GMC Canyon). It has the most pro’s and the least con’s. The best gas mileage also goes to they Canyon with 20 City 27 HWY. It comes with a bed cover, bed liner and running boards. The others only have one of the three options. The GMC has 8 of 9 options in the Tires and wheels category (Compare GMC Canyon). It loses by four to the Toyota on the interior. It is also the most spacious of the 3. It is beat in the entertainment category by the Toyota. In safety the only option Toyota has that GMC does not is that you cannot shut off the passenger airbag (Compare GMC Canyon). In safety features The Toyota wins again by two. All three trucks have ABS or an auto balancing system. But the Toyota has Front Disc and rear drum. While GMC has four wheel disc brakes. Which is just personal preference. Well Again and again we have shown GMC trucks are the better choice. Some may think that Dodge or Ford is the better choice since they have higher top speeds (Car Reviews). Commonly trucks are not meant to be hot rods or to race around in. They are built to work. As stated by Caranddriver.com the 6.2L GM motor will put out over 400 horsepower when towing a large load. That was not stated about either of its two main competitors and besides the new Ford truck is now made of aluminum. The GMC has the best gas mileage with a V8. The ford can only beat it by one MPG and with a V6 and the Sierra beats the Ram by one MPG in town. It is also the cheapest of the three and it is better than both. The Dodge has the 5.7 Hemi which is the one Chuck Hull said has valve spring problems regularly. Another thing on Caranddriver.com is that the GMC is the only truck that has specific foot pounds of torque specifications(Car Reviews). The other two did not have this. Funnily enough neither Dodge or Ford has midsize truck. But the two brands that do Nissan and Toyota are both beaten by the GMC Canyon.
