The Pros And Cons Of Generation Generalization

Across history, each generation has hated the younger generation without fail. There has not been a case that I have seen that the members of the younger generation have brought satisfaction to their adjacent ancestors. Often the generations are hard to pin to a certain time period, so some of the things that mark important events for scale in Generation Generalization's time period are the following: President Donald Trump was elected not by the majority, but won the electoral college, the Orlando shooting where Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 more, and the advancement of SpaceX and their successes with reusable orbital rockets. even Through quite a bit of criticism from older generations, even being called miscreants, Generation …show more content…

My mother has seen an attribute of attitude in how cars are treated in general; she said that "it was great because even though it only had seat belts for 7, we could fit 13 people in there" (Wilhelm, 2017). It seems members of this generation are all too comfortable and perfunctory with the idea of a car. But pressures from the internet abroad cause a want for a good look so members are "more likely to ride bikes, carpool or telecommute" when at the same time, they recycle less (Greenblatt, 2015). Members of this generation are "reluctant to buy items such as cars, music and luxury goods," and an example of this is the rise of music platforms like Pandora and Spotify, but most importantly the largest music streaming platform online is YouTube, which has members that listen to music with a number 3 times greater than the total of Apple Music, Spotify, and Pandora combined (Sachs, 2017). This shows importance to the lack of ownership of anything of this generation because everything is shared so much. In my experience, I see so much music to listen to that I cannot listen to all of what genres I like, and this brings a relation issue because with so much music then anyone could be called a "hipster — one that loosely connects people who share vaguely similar cultural interests slightly outside the mainstream" (Favilla, 2017). More people than are realized want to be hipster because that is panache and is the cool thing, but not everyone can be hipster, so really it contradicts itself, much like the attitude of Generation Generalization. This makes it somehow easier and harder to blend into this
