The law is never something to take lightly especially when the specific law is set in place to prevent the loss of human life. Gun control laws have a basis set by the federal government and are expanded upon by each individual state as they deem fit. Federal gun laws and state gun laws have their similarities and differences, but both are set in place as a barrier of protection against those who could cause bodily harm to others if equipped with such power that a gun holds. The U.S federal Government has its own set of regulations concerning firearms and the state of California builds upon them to create a stronger gun policy, meaning both sets of codes and regulations have similarities and differences, but no matter the differences, these laws are set in place to prevent massacres like the Las Vegas, Nevada shooting, and while California gun laws are built upon federal laws, they can be improved for a safer more controlled environment. Federal gun laws are the foundation for state laws and the building blocks for more advanced restrictions set by individual
Although just a few cities away in Syracuse there are shootings you hear about everyday with 15 year old kids just because they are trying to have fun. It is ridiculous. We will never be able to keep every single gun and person under control, but if we take more steps into making it our laws in the country more unified, I think the violence rate in the United States will dramatically
With so many shootings arising these days, many people wonder whether handguns should be banned or not. Some people say it is a part of American history and that they would not be here today without guns. While others believe that the country would be more peaceful and safe if the guns were illegal. The problems that come with banning guns are endless and could possibly cause many more problems than necessary or intended. Having a handgun is a way of protection and self defense.
1st Amendment: The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridg-ing the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” In short, this amendment prohibits the establishment of a state religion, protects freedom of the press and speech, and protects the right to assemble and petition the government. The establishment clause enforces the separation of church and state and prohibits the government from restricting a citizen’s religious practices and forbids the government from forcing religion onto its citizens.
Criminals don’t follow laws. Gun control laws are more oppressive on citizens than criminals, which is literally someone who has broken, or is breaking, a law. Why are some gun control laws and rulings so heavily pushed? Especially considering that the majority of these laws have very little actual basis aside from the “guns are scary and bad” train of thought. This is going to be going into why most of these laws, current, and proposed, make no sense such as the Magazine Capacity bans that some states are putting in place, the entirety of the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA), and the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban(AWB).
In this day and time, there are a plethora of new laws being made because of the number of homicides that have been committed, killing numerous innocent citizens. This has forced our government to try and take a stand by making these laws. Including the gun control laws, the gun control laws are why I am making my essay to begin with, I want to share my thoughts on gun control laws from a pro gun prospective. I believe that we should not have gun control laws for numerous reasons. The first reason is a gun doesn’t kill a person its man on man crime.
If criminals have done bad things in the past and have not learned from it they aren’t going to stop because of a couple laws. They have broken laws in the past and they will break more in the future. Criminals will get guns and other weapons any way they can get them. If they are going to break a law with the weapon, why wouldn’t they break a law getting it? They will get weapons any way they can.
Gun control laws are against the right to self-defense and the feeling of safety along the right to own guns for recreational
As a Gun owner, I wanted to formally write out the reasons why our country does not need more strict gun control laws. I put many ideas together and i feel that it would be best for our country to not have any more laws because not only do they take away the citizens rights to own guns, they also prevent citizens from protecting themselves and they won't stop criminals from getting guns. Laws that restrict gun ownership do nothing to stop someone from getting a gun if they have already decided to shoot someone. According to John Lott from the article “Gun Control Misfires In Europe” in the Wall Street Journal, “The problem with gun control laws is that they take away the guns from law abiding citizens, while would-be criminals ignore them.”
To many people are killing themselves with guns. A Little more than half of suicides are done with guns. Making it harder for someone who is not mentally stable to own a gun or someone who will inflict pain on themselves to get a gun. The amount of money that is spent on gun related accidents can decrease if the gun laws were enforced. In theory if the numbers of gun violence drop, taxpayers will be paying less in taxes.
The use of and the owning of guns is a very hot and debated topic in society today. For many, this is a life and death debate due to the recent and numerous school shootings. These school shootings have caused an outcry for more gun control, specifically in relation to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Despite these calls, increased gun control is not the answer. Most gun owners’ use their guns responsibly and for good purposes.
One reason that gun control wouldn’t be a good idea is because people will still find a way to commit a crime. Armed thugs usually want to commit a crime where guns are illegal like
Gun control has long been a controversial topic in the U.S. The U.S. government need to strengthen the gun control regulations to a level that no one has gun, with only a few exceptions. The government will then still need to have supervision on these exceptions. These can protect her citizens and future. Currently, the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution empowers the U.S. citizens to own guns.
Loopholes are another part of this grand argument, used by the side opposed to gun control, saying that loopholes are impossible to close, while the pro gun control side argues that stricter gun control and background checks make these loopholes not an issue. Both sides can be easily argued, but there is only one side that can save countless lives. Stricter gun control will work to pr otect citizens by limiting gun violence, keeping Second Amendment rights, and closing gun loopholes. Gun control and background checks go hand in hand, as background checks act as an aid to enforce safety. Background checks significantly curb gun
Welcome to Change Welcome to the 21st century where some people can’t choose between sport or protection. Should gun control be set in the United States? Such as in the article “10 Advantages and Disadvantages of Gun Control” it shows the court wouldn 't have to waste time on guns or in the article “Arguments for Gun Control” showing that many mentally unstable people die each year. Found in the article “The Pros and Cons of Gun Control” it shows how gun cultural will be wiped completely away. Gun violence occurs based on the unstable people in control of the gun not the gun itself.
