Many individuals have their own views on liberation. According to Cambridge University Dictionary, “liberation is used to refer to activities connect with removing the disadvantages experienced by particular groups within society” (Definition). Many groups have similar approaches how their group should be viewed. It’s hard to determine what’s more important diversity or equality. To answer the Bartender’s question on how we truly liberate each person and group within our society. I would start off with addressing the barriers/problems that each person/group face. Their many focuses is to fix the problem with minority groups than move towards that same equality for everyone. The difference between equality and diversity comes in when each group has two different variants. One variants is describes as being non inclusive for example, “Black nationalists, or separatists, tend to emphasize the need for people of African descent to take control of their own destinies by opposing racist beliefs and attitudes. At the extreme, some black nationalists have advocated the creation of a separate territory or homeland created for blacks” (Liberating Times).
