Vagrant Royale A proposition to the mayors of the many cities in the U.S.A., hopefully, it becomes a proposition to the President of the United States of America. This proposition tackles a major threat to our economy and our level of innovation, to leap forward into a prosperous, preferable future. The United States is running out of jobs for people to work in, specifically those in the higher professional field such as Doctors, Lawyers, taxi drivers, politicians, etc.
In the beginning of the book, it’s about the government debate whether is a proper idea to keep the illegal immigrant since they are using the welfare from US government. After the debate, illegal immigrants was prohibited in US and they cannot receive any welfare due to their identity. To continued, Oscar and Cristian are looking to attend to university or college after they graduated from high school, but they cannot afford for the tuition since is too expensive. Luis decided to work, so he has two jobs which are filing paper at a Social Security office and work as a chef in restaurant. In April 2005, Joshua Davis writes an article about Fredi’s team in Wired that inspired a lot of people to donate money for these four teenagers to continue
Birthright Citizenship opens a door for Potential Terrorist that can destroy the United States internally. The children of Terrorist are groomed and raised to hate a certain way of life or idea. If these hate groups get a hold of a Unites States Passport they will have access to the country without questions asked. The children of illegal immigrants are automatically a citizen regardless of their parent’s stature. Accompanying, Republican congressmen believe birthright citizenship is the link to terrorism.
“At the states and local level alone, Undocumented immigrants nationwide collectively pay an estimated $11.64 Billion each year in taxes, according to a recent report by the institute on taxation and economic policy. …. Many undocumented immigrants also pay state income taxes.” The Immigrants are coming to live in America for a better life, but they aren’t just coming here to live for free they are paying taxes. so why can’t they stay in America to live there dream to do something in life? Immigrants from all over have helped the states and other countries become much better, for their own good and their future.
I honestly feel if they cherish and represent the United States then they should be let off a little bit. They do at least fill in the jobs that others won’t do. Immigrants do take care of our lawns, work in restaurants, fix our roofs repair some of our streets and work hours in the winter time when people need to get to school, work and other places. They do snow removal and keep it safe for families, when they have families at home waiting for them. If they are making money, instead of doing nothing then, I feel they have every right to be here.
Immigration reform has been a big issue for our country in recent years. Many U.S. citizens claim that immigration is harmful to the US economy. In just 20 years, we have seen the average number of immigrants per year jump a staggering 20%. This has lead to the biased opinions we see towards immigration today. Currently, our country is not receiving any benefit from immigration.
In terms of postsecondary education, African immigrants have been given priority over other black Americans for affirmative action in higher rank institutions, leading to the creation of the idea of them as a new model minority. They have been cited as the racial group with the highest percentage of university and advanced degrees at 48.9% in 2010 and 8.2% in 2014 respectively (Ukpokodu 70). There are many problems with the seeming prioritization of accepting more African immigrants into universities. Not only the fact that less native-born black Americans are not getting spots in these institutions therefore dividing African immigrants and native-born African Americans even more, but also that this puts pressure and intense expectations on
Immigration reform can go either way to helping immigrants and asylum seekers or placing further restrictions on their lives by even more punitive laws. The United States has faced a long issue on whether or not should they reform the current laws put in place in order for “Aliens” to be able to live here and become a citizen and get the American dream so many people have come to achieve. Immigration laws should be reformed because America was founded on immigrants, they help make the community, and they contribute to the community. For several years now, Congress has been focusing on a new type of bill or act that will be set in place for current asylum seekers. The most current reform act is the Real ID Act of 2005.
According to the first google result, “an immigrant a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.” However I consider that definition is very dull and vague, mainly due to the reason that it says what a person is doing, however it does not represent their morals or reasoning behind the choice of migration. However before I can actually discuss the reasoning behind migration, I need to provide demographics that show how much immigrants make up the population in the United States. According to Center of Immigration Studies, in the year 2014 there was a total of 42.4 million immigrants including both legal and illegal(Camarota and Zeigler, par. 1). This makes up roughly 13.3% of the United States population.
Bob Riley states, “Hard times don’t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the hero within us is revealed.” When hard times arrived in the epic poem, by Homer, Odysseus endured these moments. He is a character who is seen as very high person in society. Odysseus may not think of his actions, but many see it within him.
Donald Trump took office on January 20, 2017 and quickly signed numerous executive orders. He was adamant that Americans face many problems due to immigrants. Trump, all throughout his campaign, wanted to ban Muslims from America. As a result, one of the executive orders he decided to impose is a temporary travel ban on Syrian refugees and citizens of six other Muslim-majority countries seeking to enter the United States (US) permanently or temporarily. This was the wrong thing to do because our country has always been open and has allowed immigrants in regardless of race.
As it was mentioned before, there are many factors by which immigration has increased dramatically, but the most common reasons are the economic problems and the pursuit of freedom. Regarding the economic problems, there are many countries that have been affected by the worldwide economic crisis; on the other hand, others have increased their incomes. This last fact is totally appealing for a population that lacks of money; indeed, immigrants want a better life, a better job, earn more money, among other desires. Respecting pursuit of freedom, around the world is possible to find some cases of people fleeing from wars, people requesting for political asylum (it means that the person is persecuted for political reasons), or even people looking
“Undocumented immigrants contribute significantly to state and local taxes, collectively paying an estimated $11.64 billion a year’’(qtd. in “Is Illegal Immigration An Economic Burden To America?”). The U.S. would lose billions of dollars in taxes if they were to be deported. Not only do they pay their taxes, but they also help raise GDP.(“10 Critical Pros And Cons Of Illegal Immigration” ). The number of immigrants that do not pay their taxes is too limited for it to be considered a burden to our economy.
There are many cons of immigration and some pros of it. At this point, they just make it so easy for immigrants to get in whether they are legal or illegal. I would say that most of the people are legal but there are also some illegal ones for sure. One of the main cons of immigration can be the threat they have with terrorism. I say this because it has happened many times.
Transnational migration study is not a new phenomenon and it has been found that “this process is happening more regularly on a basic routine because of fast growing technology and the spread of globalization.” It is generally agreed that with the rapid acceleration of economic globalization, transnational trend has gradually become a global phenomenon. The convenient transportation and advanced technology have really helped to make the transnational process easier. Thus transnational immigrants can easily and frequently travel cross-borders in sending and receiving country. In this way, transnational immigrants experience different cultures, norms and values and they can also bring goods and investments to help them to incorporate into mainstream society.
