Have you ever thought about the good invasive species? Well there are many good invasive species. Invasive species have helped us out of problems before many times. Like the Aldabra tortoises helped ebony trees grow again before they became instinct. Also getting rid of invasive species would cost more tax money than keeping it. This essay will argue that invasive species should be let be and we shouldnt do nothing about it. First, destroying and trying to get rid of invasive species can cause tons of money. According to, “Invasive Plants Sometimes Offer Help Instead of Harm.” it states, “ destroying invasive species can eat up tax dollars, and is often ineffective in the long run, Carlo said. For example, the Aldabra tortoises are really helpful in Ile Aux Aigrettes because they have helped the endangered ebony trees so the ebony forests are starting to recover. Furthermore, in the article, “ !0 Invasive Species That Helped The Ecosystems They Inhabit.” it states. “ The non native tortoises are eating the fruit produced by the ebony trees and dispersing their seed all over the island.Over a decade after the Aldabra tortoises were introduced researchers are nothing that the endangered ebony forests are beginning to recover” (J. Francis Wolfe). This shows and proves that the invasive species Aldabra tortoises are helping grow back the ebony trees. Also in the text it states, “ Not only do the tortoises facilitate the spreading of the seed, they are also aiding in the germination process due to the seeds passing through their digestive systems.” Thus explains that the tortoises don't just help on way, they help out in many ways.
