For years, Iran has ignored treaties and agreements against its nuclear weapons. Currently, Iran's nuclear weapons have raised a great concern on the global security. The United States is in the lead to fight against Iran's nuclear weapons by reducing trading activities with Iran and sanctioning Iranian firms in the United States that support the production of nuclear weapons. The major concern by the United States is that Iran continues to sponsor global terrorist groups and possession of nuclear weapons by the terrorist would cause global insecurity. Additionally, United States is concerned about its allies in the middle east in which most of these countries are rivals with Iran. The fact the nuclear program in Iran has been a secret for 18 years until 2002 raises lots of questions on Iran's general intentions of installing nuclear reactors for production of nuclear …show more content…

However, they excite a poor picture of Iran which makes Iran to be viewed as selfish and possessed with attacks which results from the fear of the world's powers like the United States. However, the risks involved in nuclear weapons are high thus it's a global threat (Bowen & Moran, 2015). The dangers that nuclear weapons pause to the humankind and the environment are huge thus an accidental launch of the weapon would cause a disaster. Considering the impacts of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it is evident that the impact would be more if these nuclear weapons are used. The current nuclear weapons in Iran are 200X more powerful than the ones used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This reveals that, in case of any launch of a nuclear weapon by Iran, the effects would last for even more than a century. Finally, a state's possession of nuclear weapons alerts other rival states about a possible attack. This leads to an increase in global tension.
