As of today, the Law Enforcement in El Salvador is not funded sufficiently, and it is hurting the communities and the police force in El Salvador. To begin with, not having the necessary money to invest in the combat gear for the police to attack the gang members will only make the cops vulnerable when the gang members start to attack them. Not to mention that gangs have more gun power than the police because gang members have the resources to purchase more powerful guns. Being overpowered by firearms will have a tremendous disadvantage to the police force. It increases the chances of a police officer to die before a gang member.
