Medicine is such a common treatment for many disorders, even just for a common cold. There is no certain age when one should start taking it. Some argue that prescribing medicine at such a young age can mess up children's growth, or emotions. Although many medications have been deeply researched, and used greatly, they are not perfect. Side effects are a problem. There are many pros and cons of medicating children that researchers have formed. Medicine was a great discovery. It's usually easy to take and very effective. Disorders can form at a very young age such as ADHD. Medicine plays an important part. Children are stubborn, therapy works sometimes for them, but other times, they can not sit and focus talking to a therapist. Usually soon as someone comes off of a medication they will just relapse right back to the start of the problem. Children are young and their bodies are not fully formed. Adding chemicals into them when they are especially young can cause more harm than the actual disorder itself. Finding the medication that fits for the patient is very hard. The same dosage is not for everyone. When a child is prescribed such a high dosage at a young age, it can form into an addiction they carry around for life. Some pills also come with side effects. For instance, some medications have depression as one. Imagine a six year old boy now battling with depression. If that is not treated, or the medication changed, he could eventually kill himself. Childrens bodies are not fully functioning, they change through adolescent. A problem they are being treated for at a young age could lessen or even disappear when they are older if other alternatives are offered.
