In 2020 the Oakland Raiders moved from Oakland California to Las Vegas Nevada. This move impacted both cities' economies greatly. There are many pros and cons towards the Oakland economy from the move. The Oakland stadium, ¨coliseum¨, was in poor condition. The stadium's flawed condition was the primary reason why the Raiders started looking into a move. Maybe right here we could kinda talk about who paid for it and how much it cost. Once moved to Las Vegas, the Raiders fans did not approve of the switch in home towns. This resulted in conflict between the Raider fans and the owners of the team. To begin with the pros, the Raiders felt the RingCentral Coliseum wasn’t in an acceptable condition for them to play, or for their fans to watch. Additionally, they shared the stadium with a baseball team, the Athletics, which complicated scheduling for games, among other things. There are a variety of reasons why Las Vegas would have benefited without the Raiders. Many fans are unhappy with Allegiant stadium itself, they claim that the stadium has a “corporate feel”, very different from the Oakland coliseum. Another downside to putting a stadium in Las Vegas is that because of the attractive tourist destination, there will be a more significant percentage of visiting fans. The NFL themselves were hesitant about approving the move because of Las Vegas’ ties to gambling. If players were to be irresponsible and gamble their money away their position on the team may be suspended. In addition to this, if a member of the team was to get involved with a troublesome gambler, deals may be constructed to influence the game. This is strictly prohibited by the NFL.
