The National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA for short is the United States of America’s government agency that mainly responsible for advancing the knowledge of space and also being able to travel space. All thought they have accomplished many feats like landing a man on the moon it is still highly underfunded and should be funded and supported much more. Let’s say that it is sometime, years into the not so distant future. You are sitting down watching a run on marathon of your favorite television show with your family when suddenly, out of nowhere an emergency broadcast interrupts the show you are watching and is displayed instead. The same people who say these things are also the ones that are oblivious to the fact that the technologies that NASA discovers can be and are also very helpful down here on land. There is more than a handful of things that NASA can do for us in the future, but it as a program has also done many beneficial things for us already. NASA has whether intentionally or a spinoff technology, has helped create several inventions that we use today and take for granted. Such as the GPS, firefighting equipment, insulin pump, cordless tools, adjustable smoke detectors, scratch-resistant eyeglass lenses, CAT scans, MRIs and water filters to name a few. All of these useful things have been created in NASA’s short life of fifty-seven years which only started on July 29, 1958. People that disagree with funding NASA say that way too much money is being spent on the program. They say that the money they get right now is a crazy amount that is already enough. If anything it is not enough! NASA is underfunded. The amount of funding that NASA gets is “By the way how much does NASA cost? It’s half a penny on a dollar.
