The Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Power Plants

Hi I want to ask you a question, did you know that nuclear power plants light travels at or near 186,000 per second? What nuclear power plants do is take water and then heats it up and add atoms to it to create electricity then transport it to the city. But one thing I bet you didn’t know was that nuclear power plants has caused more harm than good.

They are dangerous because all the radiation if something spills or something doesn't do it's job right so there is always a chance of radiation to be there to harm. The University of Michigan proves this through its own studies which state, ¨The principal risks associated with nuclear power arise from health effects of radiation. This radiation consists of subatomic particles traveling at or near the velocity of light---186,000 miles per second. They can penetrate deep inside the human body where they can damage biological cells and thereby initiate a cancer.”(Bernard L. Cohen, Sc.D) Radiation occurs naturally in our environment; a typical person is, and always has been struck by 15,000 particles of radiation every second from natural sources, and an average medical X-ray involves being struck by 100 billion. They can penetrate deep inside the human body where they can damage biological cells and thereby initiate a cancer. If they strike sex cells, they can cause genetic diseases in progeny. …show more content…

Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. This shows that great deal of such transport has taken place over the past 50 years and there have been numerous accidents.
What I think is that we should try to find a new system for nuclear power because they cause too much
