On the day of May 28th, seventeen years and eleven months ago in history the world was still going through wide spread violence; there was controversy with who should be charged as an accomplice in the Oklahoma bombings, school shootings, and unfortunately today there are even more tragedies still occurring. The ‘90s brought us many great things that are still evident in today’s society especially terrorism and violent acts in the United States. history. Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Golden were 11 and 13 at the time when they brought guns from Golden’s grandparents house to their school. After pulling the fire alarm they waited out side the front doors of the school then immediately began opening fire thus killing four students, one teacher, and injuring ten others. They were both charged as minors and only spent 10 years in a detention center (Bilt). The unbelievable part of the Westside Middle School Shooting was that these kids were so young and yet could create such mass chaos across the country. Shooter, Adam Lanza one morning shot his mother then proceeded to steal three weapons before heading to a mass school shooting. This school happened to be full of 700 kids ranging from five to eleven years old. Lanza went to the school with the intent to kill multiple kids and any adults that get in his way. Investigators haven’t found any motivation for the senseless killing of twenty children between the ages of 7-10 and six adult teachers (History).
