The war of 1812 ended with Madison in the presidential office, this war caused problems for Madison due to the fact that at the time of the war the U.S. had a limited military and the economy was not at its strongest. Split alliances and political masquerades caused even more stress on the U.S. After all this Madison sought to it to bring about a stronger national government, military, and bank which went against the Jefferson ideology.

He preceded George Washington and had Thomas Jefferson, a Democratic-Republican, as his Vice President. While the two men were in office, it was not uncommon for them to disagree with one another over their political and ideological views. This fighting would lead to a strong hatred of one another during Adams’ presidency.
Of the many great presidents, Thomas Jefferson was the strongest. Not only was he a great president, but he also was able to be so involved with teh New American Union even after his time in office.
