There are many ethical concerns when researchers are using specific methods to study intimate relationships. The researcher's main goal is to gain insight into a particular area of interest. In doing so, the researcher must consider several different aspects of their research to produce accurate information. One of the factors associated with the particular results is the environment that the researcher creates. To receive the most accurate data, the researcher at times need to create a comfortable atmosphere that allows the individual to be honest and straightforward with their replies during the experiment. A topic such as adultery could lead to the effects mentioned above. Therefore, the researcher needs to be ethical in the method he or she chooses as well as how he or she analyzes and interprets the results. He or she must be objective, honest, confidential and respectful of the people involved in the research. The researcher should also be prepared to deal with ethical dilemmas over public opinion. Every individual is different which creates various results. It is up to the researcher to ethically analyze the results and present them in a way that not only directly promotes the area of study but promotes them in the sense of social understanding. In other words, presents them in a way that does not promote social or public chaos. On that note, some form of disagreements is expected as everyone has their own belief or opinion regarding certain areas of intimate relationships.
