Leaders around the world still debate whether the atomic bomb was a necessity or not. It was a military necessity to drop the atomic bomb on hiroshima. The first reason is it ended the war quickly, and saved more lives in the end. Japan was very large and if the Americans invaded it, many of them would’ve died (Doc. E). So if they didn't drop the catastrophic bomb, more Americans would have died.

Instead of going into war again Truman used the atomic bomb to end it, without question. This action helped to save many Americans. Another reason for why the bomb was dropped on Japan was because it was supposed to lower the number of casualties for the Americans.
I think the United States should have not dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because the atomic bombs was too expensive and it was not really worth it, they wiped out two entire cities, and Japan was planning on surrendering. The atomic bomb they used on Nagasaki cost 2 billion
