What is the Electoral College? The Electoral College is the voting system used by the United States and its citizens. In the Electoral College, you don’t vote for a specific candidate. Instead, you vote for a group of electors that represent your state and vote on your behalf. Per state via popular vote, electors are chosen. The slate chose then represents the will of the state. There are many flaws in this system. They include, electors defying the will of the people, candidates campaigning only in swing states, and lack of eligible citizens voting. Electors are people who the citizens of a specific state, entrust to vote for a specific candidate. However, that’s not always what happens. Electors have to ability to defy the will of the people
