“There are voices which assert that the bomb should never have been used at all. I cannot associate myself with such ideas,” said Winston Churchill. During the World War II, the Americans had made a significant decision that they had dropped two fatal bombs onto mainland Japan. On August 6, 1945, 8:15 A.M., the first atomic bomb “Little Boy” was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, causing 70,000 Japanese citizens vaporize and addition of 100,000 perished from radiation sickness. Three days later, August 9, 1945, the second bomb “Fat Man” was dropped on Nagasaki, where 80,000 citizens wiped out. Later, on August 14, 1945, Japan has finally agreed to surrender. The World War II had finally came to an end and the balance of the power shifted towards the United States. However, severals argued that the bombing was militarily unnecessary, and consider the act as fundamentally immoral. Nevertheless, this decision was the only way to end the war immediately. Truman, “Having found the [atomic] bomb we have used it. We have used it against those who attacked us without warning at Pearl Harbor, against those who have starved and beaten and executed American prisoners of war, against those who have abandoned all pretense of obeying international laws of warfare.
