If I were to be in President Truman’s position of deciding whether to use the atomic bomb or not I would have choose to use the bomb. The positives of using the bomb far outweigh the negatives of it. To begin with, in Japanese culture the act of surrendering was seen as disgraceful and dying in the war was seen as the greatest honour. This was proved true as the multiple chances Japan was given to surrender previous to the bombing was declined. They continued to fight wars on islands and other places causing many casualties. The bomb was used as leverage, as well as other things, to have the Pacific war to have a less complicated war.
Secondly, without the bomb the cost of war and deaths would’ve been far greater than if the bomb were to
