In the Marvel Universe, Bruce Banner turns into the Hulk because of too much gamma radiation, well x-rays are putting their own form of radiation into people. Radiology helps medical physicians to make a better visual of the bone. In X-ray pictures bones show up white and gasses appear black. The first X-ray was performed on a young boy, whose name was Eddie McCarthy with a broken wrist. This radiation has know been carried out over one-hundred years ago. Believe it or not, but everyone on the planet has been exposed to a certain amount of radiation as they go about their daily lives. This is due to radioactive material which is found in the air, soil, water, rocks and vegetation. These rays are not harmless but they are not avoidable, but the radiation is at such low levels that it's effects are virtually unnoticed (Newman). X-ray …show more content…
Many people will agree that the radiation from X-rays can cause cancer later in life, which can be true. As some may know there are many different areas to get an X-ray which shows that each procedure has a different risk associated with it. Radiation is harmful to everyone but it is very dangerous for small children. It is also known to cause birth defects to unborn children (“Pros & Cons of X-Rays”). X-ray radiation is also harmful for the health-care providers. So to help the health-care providers doses that were received by the staff of department should be monitored regularly (Knowledge and Attitude). Another risk towards radiation is skin damage, which is also similar to the sun. So if you are a person that likes to play outside or swim while it’s sunny you better use sunscreen. The sun is a very good relation to radiology because it can also give you cancer do to the same reasons on why radiation can, but it is also healthy for people to get small amounts of sunlight (“Ultraviolet Radiation”). Some people may not believe it, but there are more benefits than there are
