My analysis of the narrative poem by Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven. I believe it is about a man who is devastated, and grief stricken with the loss of his loved one named, Lenore. He cannot seem to get over the loss. The person in the story mentions that he lost his love Lenore and is sad and depressed and might feel like he is losing his mind thinking about her and hearing things. Then he comes in counter with a raven who he tries to talk to trying to get answers from the bird. The only thing he seems to get from the raven is the word, nevermore.
The person in the poem speaking, mentions how he was weak, and had sorrow for the loss of his love. He says, “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,”

“From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore – He wished his pain would end and tried to keep busy reading books. He was hearing a knocking on his door but when he checked there was no one there, even called out her name, thinking maybe she was there. He says, “Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,” He sounds scared and lost wishing somehow his love would appear.
He felt as if he was losing his mind hearing the tapping at the door. He heard it again and thought maybe it’s coming from the window. When he checked it was nothing according to the verse, “Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.”
Then here comes the raven to perch himself in the room. He tries to speak to the raven and asks it what his name is. The only response he gets from the raven is, nevermore. He says, “But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke
